Zawawi (now Archie) was rescued by a kind lady after he was very badly beaten by a man in the street.  She gave him shelter at her workplace but he cannot live there forever.  The lady told us that because he is a large dog weighing around 30kg people were scared of him on the street and he was always subject to their violence.

After taking refuge in the workshop Zawawi no longer wanted to be on the streets.  He was frightened to go out there.  He also doesn’t like the extreme heat in Egypt.  She believes he would love a comfortable home to call his own.

He is good with the street dogs.

Zawawi has lived in boarding for more than 2 years and has proven himself to be a wonderful sociable dog.

UPDATE DEC 26

Zawawi has been renamed Archie and is due to arrive in the UK March 2026 into foster. Meet and greets in Brentwood, Essex.

19.3.26 Archie is now settling in, in foster and is a really nice laid back boy just as described. Archie is calm, loving, friendly with all dogs and yet still has a playful side.  He is in good health and ready to find a forever home to call his own after waiting a lifetime already.  He could live with older children, probably not very young kids- just due to his size.
