About
The following information is written by Foxy’s rescuer:
“I have known Foxy since the spring of 2024, when I gathered as many street dogs as I could and took them to be spayed/neutered.
She was one of those dogs. I took her to be spayed and I released her afterwards. In January 2025, someone called me and told me there was a dog that had been hit by a car before Christmas and she had been crawling ever since, unable to lift her back and move her legs.
I came immediately and when I saw her, it broke my heart, especially because I had known her. She had spent almost 3 weeks paralyzed on the street, facing the incredibly loud and scary noise of the firecrackers and fireworks, unable to move as fast as the other dogs and find refugee to hide.
She is paralyzed from the waist down and she also received treatment for gastritis about two months ago. She is okay now and I haven’t changed her food ever since.
She did physiotherapy sessions from January till the start of June and she learned to move her back legs and she manages to lift her body sometimes but this ability can be lost without further practice.
I stopped the physio sessions because it became too expensive for me and I ordered a wheelchair that has just arrived and now she walks with it.
The wheelchair allows her to move her back legs, as she learned in physio but I am not sure how long she will keep this ability without the physio lessons.
She is used to having her bladder expressed, I do it at least twice a day.
Foxy is friendly with dogs, cats and people but somewhat reserved in nature. Once she knows you she becomes quite attached to you. I have grown very fond of her.”
Foxy weighs around 7kg and is looking for a dedicated home to take care of her for the rest of her life.
