Country to Adopt to

Mario was not a MM rescue but we stepped in to try and help him.  He was originally rescued in Crete at the side of a busy road when he was 3 months old.

He was then adopted to a family in the UK without any rescue back up in November 2023.  The family have 2 children aged 14 and 10 years old and 3 other dogs.  For the most part Mario has gotten along fine with the other dogs.

However one of the resident dogs picks on him and he then in turn picks on the older weaker dog (a border terrier)  It is important to note there have been no injuries to any of the dogs!

His current owners feel they have done as much as they can to try and remedy this and now want him to find a new home.

He was neutered in April 24.  He weighs around 14.5kg.  He is a friendly boy who gets along well with people and children.  He can also live with dogs with good management and slow introductions.

He is somewhat nervous out in public and on walks, he hasn’t met other dogs on leash since he arrived in the UK so there will be some work to do in that area.  He is not cat tested at home and is reactive to them in the street while walked on leash.

It is a sad situation for Mario to be looking for a home after being through so much already in his short life.  We know that the more upheaval he faces the worse his chances of settling well in a home will be.  For that reason we would like him to go to a home with some good training knowledge and experience of safely integrating dogs in a multi dog household.

Type of Home Needed

A loving home, happy to adopt a young dog, that will need time to adjust and find his feet.

Mario needs to acquire basic life skills training (with humane methods)
